Dani Reid, Office Manager
Welcome to the NVH Family, Dani!
Dani is originally from Portsmouth, a naval town on the south coast of England, and at the age of 16yr, made the big jump across the pond to Canada. She lived in Saskatoon for several years, but eventually decided to move out to beautiful Kamloops 5 years ago with her husband, Jordan.
From a young age Dani knew that she wanted to pursue a career with animals. Throughout the years she has been in multiple positions such as Kennel Assistant, Groomer, Client Care Representative, Vet Assistant, Techling and for the past 5 yrs, clinic manager with the SPCA.
With Dani’s time with the SPCA she not only oversaw the Kamloops Spay and Neuter Clinic, but when needed, managed multiple other veterinary clinic locations and shelters. She has also taken part in multiple projects such as spay and neuter programs, low-income assistant programs, and community outreach and education.
She comes to us with an abundance of experience and knowledge, and we are so excited she has decided to join our team!
Outside of work, Dani has a passion for renovating and repurposing, which means she is constantly working on new improvements to her home. She also loves hiking, camping, yoga, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Dani has a full house (according to her husband ) with their three cats Mavis, May, Theodore and German Shepherd Cross Winston.
Linda, RVT
Linda was born and raised in a small town in the Fraser Valley. She grew up on a small dairy farm her parents owned, which helped her discover that she wanted to pursue a career in animal health. She graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Thompson Rivers University in 2014, and has since permanently moved to Kamloops and worked as an RVT. Her interests in the veterinary clinic include rehabilitation and critical care. At home, she has an elderly Himalayan cat, Bilbo, and a young Border Collie mix, Janeway. Outside of work, Linda is kept busy making memories with her partner, young daughter and fur-children.
Terra, RVT
Terra worked previously with both of these amazing veterinarians, and is very happy to join them on the adventure of this new clinic. The focus of this practice aligns perfectly with her passions: animal care, family and community. After high school in Kamloops, Terra graduated from the Animal Health Technician program at Fairview College. She has been a practising registered AHT going on 20 years now! She worked a bit in the lower mainland, and spent a year in Australia (with time spent volunteering at the Crocodile Hunter’s Queensland zoo), but she always planned on settling in her hometown of Kamloops.
Most of her time outside of work is spent focused on her two amazing kids. Of course, they also have pets at home: currently two cats, Maui & Freckle. They’ve had many animals over the years, including some temporary ones while fostering for the SPCA and dog sitting.
She is also involved in community service, and has volunteered as leader with the Westsyde Girl Guiding units for the past 4 years. She is always looking for new ways to get involved in the community, and is happy that this will be a focus of this practice.
Robyn, RVT
Robyn is from Port Hardy, a small fishing town on the northern tip of Vancouver Island. She left to attend the T.R.U. Animal Health Technology program and graduated with honours in 2018. Her favourite part of veterinary medicine is canine rehabilitation and all the weird and wonderful things that can arise from fun surgical cases. She has a 2-year-old tortoiseshell cat named Penny and shares a love for all bully breed dogs. Her interests include hiking, snowboarding, crafting, enjoying all things outdoors and a good dad joke.
Sara, RVT
Sara graduated from the Animal Health Technology program at Thompson Rivers University in 2015 and has worked in Kamloops since as an RVT. She grew up in the Fraser Valley, but after attending university here decided to stay. Her interests in the veterinary clinic include, but are not limited to, surgery and anesthesia. She has two rescue cats, Boeing and Mr. Tutt, and a young Scottish Terrier mix, Cedric. Sara is kept busy outside of work exploring the outdoors with Cedric.
JOLINE, Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant
Joline moved to Kamloops in September of 2019, bringing 12 years of experience from her previous clinic. She completed her Veterinary Medical Assistant certification from NAIT in 2007.
When she is not at work, Joline can be found reading, crafting or spending time with her husband. They both have a passion for the outdoors and living an active lifestyle, so most free time is spent camping, hiking, mushroom foraging and travelling.
Joline is excited to be a part of the Neighbourhood team and is happy to be providing friendly and helpful service to our wonderful clients and their fur babies.
Claire, Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant
Claire works part-time as one of NVH’s receptionists. She is currently enrolled as a nursing student at Thompson Rivers University. Her favourite part about working in a veterinary clinic is greeting all your pets with a treat and making sure that they have a positive experience during their visit. When she is not working, or at school, Claire is spending time with her 3 dogs and 2 cats. She has a Chihuahua named Sophie, a Pomeranian named Gia and a Bull Terrier mix named Mali. Her two kitties are Harbour and Bug. Her favourite dog breed is a Great Dane ever since she had her dog Ozzie. Because of him, she fell in love with the breed. Claire’s hobbies include fostering for local pet rescues and attending spin classes at KSPIN cycling studio in downtown Kamloops.
MIKAELA, Receptionist
Mikaela was born and raised in Kamloops. Her greatest passion is helping others, whether it is people or animals. Mikaela has worked in the customer service industry for over 10 years, and in a patient-based environment for 7 of those 10 years. She comes to our team with an abundance of experience as a medical receptionist, and we are so excited she has decided to join us.
Mikaela works very closely with a small local dog rescue, where she fosters dogs and helps to find their forever homes, saving them from high-kill shelters. She fosters over 5 dogs each year! Her and her partner do not currently have fur-babies of their own, as the fostering keeps them quite busy, but she hopes to one day have an acreage where she can start up a “Golden Days Retirement Rescue” for senior dogs, and to provide a home for goats, chickens, and maybe an alpaca or two!
When she is not at work, Mikaela and her partner Ty like to spend time tending their garden, baking, going on road trips and going camping, as well as hitting the water for some kayaking. They try and find a tiny new adventure every weekend!
Sarah, Kennel Attendant
My name is Sarah! (There’s a few of us Sarah’s here…). I was born and raised in Kamloops, and I’ve always loved spending time working with animals. My experience includes volunteering with rescues, as well as working in clinical settings. I’ve got two boys of my own, both are handsome cats named Benny & Theo! They are the best of buddies. Biking, gardening, crocheting and art are just a few of my hobbies I enjoy in my free time. I look forward to comforting your fur babies and assisting in nursing them back to health!
